The main characters are part of the winter solstice rituals from the Iberian Peninsula, known as Masquerades. Around them appear cave paintings from different enclaves of Spain and Colombia, wich could well be representing these rituals or other similiar ones, figures such as the Savages, the green Man, Dagestan women tattooed with the symbol of the Tree of life, geometric patterns and motifs that allude to the movement of the water and the energy in the universe and many others.
This work is a way to reflect, to ask questions, to put in common concepts and ideas about our link with the natural, compiling elements of diverse cultural contexts where this aspect is reflected.

The fact of putting all these motifs together on the same paper makes connections between them, creates new languages and broadens their own meaning. Seeing them all togheter generates a kind of common identity, as if they all belonged to the same cultural context, to the same way of understanding life.

My way of investigating cannot be understood detaches from the act of creating. Drawing and painting as I research helps me to better understand, assimilate and process the information I gather. When I draw somehow I register it in my deepest psyche, understanding it from the symbolic and archetypal language rather than from my own intellect.
This serie is constantly evolving and growing as I research and collect more data on this subject.
